Costa de la Luz occupies the western part of Andalusia, the shore of Huelva and Cadiz provinces. It is situated on the coasts of the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea. The beaches of Costa de la Luz are more unspoilt then the beaches of neighboring Costa del Sol. The sand here is fine and golden like anywhere in Andalusia. The climate of the region is a little bit milder then of Costa del Sol. Thanks to constantly blowing winds, Costa de la Luz is very popular with windsurfers and surfboarders.
Huelva’s Costa de la Luz is full of tourists in July and August and you should book your apartments in advance. But there is possibility to find remote place even in summer period. There’re lots of coastal reserves in Costa de la Luz. The landscape of the territory consists of sandy beaches, pine trees and dunes mostly. The coastal part of Huelva is less popular with tourists than other coastal regions of Andalusia, although there are such full-grown resort towns as Islantilla or Mazagon. Foreigners usually rests in Ayamonte, Matalascanas and Isla Cristina.
Cadiz’s Costa de la Luz is an endless line of golden beaches. It’s the best place in Andalusia for windsurfing and surfboarding. Exactly here the Europe’s windsurfing capital Tarifa is situated. The city of Cadiz is famous for its architecture and cultural life. Besides Tarifa and the capital of Cadiz province, you should also visit Conil de la Frontera, Sanlucar de Barrameda, El Puerto de Santa Maria, Barbate and Sotogrande. These places cater people for its cozy covers and picturesque cliffs.
So, if you are tired of crowded resorts and planning to spend your holidays in Andalusia then Costa de la Luz is the best place to visit.
