People go to the Costa del Sol for pregnancy

(Andalusia Travel News)

The world famous resort of Costa del Sol is very popular among the tourists, who prefer comfortable beach holidays in Spain. However, in the last two years people started to come here not just for the warm seas and good weather. As noted by one of the most respected Spanish newspapers El Mundo, many Europeans choose Costa del Sol resorts, more specifically local clinics for the procedure of artificial insemination.

The reason for the popularity of clinics at the resorts of the Costa del Sol is that the level of services provided by local health centers fully complies with the European standards. In addition, laws in ART sphere (assisted reproductive technologies) in Spain are not so strict compared with many neighboring countries. For example, in Italy donation of semen and ova is prohibited, while in Germany is banned pre-implantation genetic diagnosis of embryos.

Also, in many European countries existing legislation sets strict age limits for women, who want to become mothers through artificial insemination. Not the last role plays the level of services in medical centers of the Costa del Sol. To eliminate the language barrier each patient is provided with a medical specialist, who speaks patients native language. In many clinics is available refunding program, which implies return of 70% of the money if after three cycles of IVF the patient did not become pregnant.

According to the WHO, one in five married couples worldwide suffers from infertility. And the only chance to become parents for them is to use assisted reproductive technologies. Thanks to the artificial insemination about 3 million babies had already born in the world. Therefore, it is not surprising that reproductive medicine today is among the five fastest growing trends in medical tourism.
