Beaches in Marbella were named the best in Spain. Survey of the resort regions of the country with the best reputation was carried out by Oak Power Communication company, which examined the views about beach holidays in Spain among 600 journalists around the world writing about traveling.
Marbella and its beaches have taken the first position. Next to the famous resort of Costa del Sol are the beaches of Lanzarotte and Ibiza.
The total length of the beaches in Marbella is 27km. The most famous beach resort is La Fontanilla, located in the heart of Casablanca in the area of the same name.
It is worth noting that for Marbella the title of the best beach region was not the only tourist achievement. The resort was also selected among the three most fashionable and topical holiday destinations in Spain. It is not excluded that including of Marbella was inspired by visit of Barack Obama and his wife Michelle in summer 2010.
The study also showed that the Andalusia region has the best image of the tourist region in Spain. As the global tourist brand Andalusia received 7.9 points out of ten, while Madrid and Barcelona were able to gain 7.3 and 7.1 points, respectively, according to euroweeklynews.com.
Madrid, which is ahead of its bitter rival Barcelona, has the best image of the tourist town.
The most significant element of cultural and art heritage in Spanish journalists called the Prado Museum in Madrid. On the second place was another city in Andalusia - Granada - and the famous Alhambra architectural ensemble.
