One of the main holidays of Marbella, San Bernabe Fair ( Romeria of Saint Barnabas ) is being held during the whole second week of June 2009. Luxurious resort city in Costa del Sol, Marbella is the only host in Andalusia for this magnificent fair that attracts thousands of tourists annually from all over the world.

The celebration is held around 11 June, the official San Bernabe Day. Exact dates of the fair depend on the decision of the administration of Marbella. The celebration of San Bernabe Fair is taking place in spite of canceling of monetary support of some other smaller local festivals and fairs by the Town Hall of Marbella in 2009.

As usual, several fascinating actions are planned to be held during San Bernabe Fair. As is customary in Andalusia, the fair will be celebrated in a big way. Here is a schedule of the most interesting events of San Bernabe Fair:

Sunday, 7 June – Dance Contest (Pinery Nagueles, 12.30); Mini Golf Competition (Nagueles Castle,13.00); Performance of a Group “Punta Negra” (Nagueles Castle,14.00); Corrida (the Bullring of Marbella, 19.00).

Monday, 8 June – Fireworks (the beach near Nagueles Castle, 23.00); Grand Opening of San Bernabe Fair (Avda, 00.00).

Tuesday, 9 June – Fair (Represa Park, 13.30 – 20.00); Performance of Dancing Schools (Represa Park, 15.00 – 19.00; Plaza del Mar, 18.00 – 21.30); Eentertaining Actions (Caseta Municipal, since 20.00).
