The quantity of tourists in Malaga, the most popular with tourists city in Andalusia, has exceeded all expectations since the beginning of Semana Santa (Holy Week) celebration.
A few weeks ago, the level of hotels occupancy during Semana Santa was hoped to be at least as in past years. However, according to the words of Salvador Pendon, the President of the Costa del Sol Tourist Board, hotels of Malaga are thick with tourists for about 75 per cent that is almost 8 per cent more than in 2008.
The growth of hotel reservations in Malaga has taken place in spite of the world financial crisis, which has entailed cutting down of job places in tourist sector. The curtailment has exceeded 2000 people in the city of Malaga in comparison with last year.
