The British Tourism Forum opened in Malaga, Andalusia

180 travel agents from U.K. came to Malaga for participating in the tourism forum “Loving Andalusia”, which opened today’s morning in the capital of Costa del Sol, the main tourists destination in Andalusia. The forum is planned to last two days. It is being held in the Palacio de Ferias y Congresos in Malaga city.

The main question to discuss at the forum is how to improve promotion of Andalusia in the U.K. Among the speakers of the forum, there is Luciano Alonso, the Regional Councilor for Tourism from Andalusian Administration. He is speaking today, 7 May. The main representatives of Andalusian tourist business are also taking part in “Loving Andalusia”. Besides the most popular kind of peoples rest, beach tourism, the participants of the forum will also discuss rural, health, golf and cultural tourism.

At the weekend after the forum some British travel agents are visiting popular Andalusian cities, such as Ubeda, Granada and Baeza.

The Southern region of Spain, Andalusia, is extremely popular with British travelers. According to the statistics, Andalusia receives more than 7 million foreign tourists every year. The most popular resort area, Costa del Sol, is visited by more than 2.5 million tourists from the United Kingdom. The peak of a tourism season is usually in July and August.
