Malaga province is situated in the South of Andalusia. It is washed by the Mediterranean Sea and boarders with Andalusian provinces Cadiz, Seville, Cordoba and Granada. The population of Malaga is about 1,400,000 people. The main region’s industry is tourism. The province has wide renown because of ample quantity of resorts situated here. Thanks to geographical location of Malaga province, the climate is warm and arid. The main province’s wealth is endless line of sandy beaches. All coastal towns in the South of Andalusia, including the capital Malaga, are assembled in a region named Costa del Sol.
Besides the beaches, there are many places to visit in Malaga province. First of all, you should go to the capital of the province, the city where Pablo Picasso was born. You can visit the architectural complex Alcasaba, the Roman Theater, the Sea Museum Aula del Mar and the Botanic Garden. In the city of Coin, you should see magnificent building of the City Hall. In Alora – the Church built in baroque style.
In Malaga province, at the foot of the mountains El Torcal and El Arco Calizo Chimenea, there is the city of Antequera that is famous for its two burial mounds dated from the Bronze Age. You should pay attention to the architecture of the city: the Palace of Najera (18th century), the Real Colegiata de Santa Maria la Mayor (16th century), the San Sebastian’s Church and many others. You should also visit a Moorish castle in the Malaga’s city of Archidona. It was built in 10th century by Arabs on the place of ancient Roman fortress.
Malaga caters tourists for diverse kinds of rest of excellent quality. So if you are dreaming of sunbathing and swimming or seeing ancient buildings than you should certainly visit Malaga province, the main tourist destination in the South of Andalusia!
